Wingman: Release Notes
Every version of Wingman and what changed. Inside Salesforce the package is called Record Presence Indicator, and the version number is the one shown under Setup > Installed Packages.
After any upgrade, open the Wingman Setup tab and check that the cache partition still has capacity; in our tests it sometimes returns to 0 MB after an upgrade.
Version 1.0.0
September 30, 2026. The first release.
- A row of avatars on any record page showing who else has the record open, with a count such as "3 other people are viewing this record". Hover an avatar for the name.
- Works on every object, standard or custom, with nothing to configure per object.
- Up to ten avatars, then a "+N more" chip that lists the remaining names on hover.
- Arrivals and departures fade in and out; off when the operating system asks for reduced motion.
- Only a visible browser tab counts as viewing. A colleague appears within about ten seconds and disappears shortly after they leave.
- Respects the sharing model: presence is shown only on records the user can read.
- Two permission sets: Presence Indicator User, and Presence Indicator User (Hidden User) for people who should see others without being seen. Hidden viewers see a "You are not shown to others" marker.
- The Wingman app with a Wingman Setup tab that checks the cache partition and the permission set assignments for the administrator.
- Two component settings in Lightning App Builder: the refresh interval (5 to 60 seconds) and whether to show the component when no one else is viewing.
- Stores nothing in the database and keeps no history; presence lives in a cache and expires on its own.
- All text in custom labels, so it can be translated with Translation Workbench.
Wingman is awaiting Salesforce's AppExchange review; this is the version submitted.
